There is an old showbiz saying: “Drama is easy, comedy is hard”. Not if you’re Susan Rice. According to Willamette Weekly, “Her style is conversational and engaging. You feel like she has just picked up a conversation where it last left off.”  On March 16th, 1983, Susan stepped on stage at the Leaky Roof Tavern in Portland, Oregon to work on a one women show and she changed her life completely. Rice became a stand up comic, and is still making people laugh after 41 years as a professional comedian. She has used her sense of humor to entertain audiences all over the US and abroad. Susan loves to make people laugh.

Rice moved to LA early in 1986. She worked in many of the national comedy clubs and appeared on Showtime, CBS, and ABC. Moving back to her beloved Portland, OR in 1998, Rice found herself performing for more corporate shows; Microsoft, Intel, Honeybucket, and The Red Hatters.

Now in her 70’s, Rice has found a broader range of audience than she remembers ever having as a young comedian. She recently appeared on the Youtube channel for Don’t Tell Comedy where her set and clips acquired millions of views. A month later she was asked to audition in front of celebrity judges on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Susan believes that humor and laughter heal. Her favorite quote is; “I couldn’t wait for success so I went ahead without it.” (Jonathan Winters.)
